This book focused on Inspector Jury and Melrose Plant, with others of the familiar cast of characters making appearances. I gave 4's for characters, storyline, and pacing simply because I have read other books in the series that surpassed this one. If I had never read any of the others, this book would have gotten all 5's. I think Martha Grimes has done a phenomenal job with the setting in The Old Silent, eliciting a richness of emotions.
I am really enjoying reading and contributing to the blog!
